Version in force as of 25 July 2026. Version 1.0.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, phone) when you visit a website. It makes it possible to recognise your browser, remember certain information and ensure the proper functioning of services such as the shopping cart or logging in to your account.
This policy also covers similar technologies: invisible pixels, tags, identifiers stored in the browser's local memory (local storage) and device fingerprinting. The term "tracker" is used below to refer to all of these technologies.
2. Your consent
In accordance with Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act and the recommendations of the CNIL, trackers that are not strictly necessary for the operation of the website are only placed after your free, specific, informed and unambiguous consent has been obtained.
On your first visit, a banner allows you to accept all, reject all — rejecting being as easy as accepting — or customise your choices category by category. No tracker subject to consent is placed before you have expressed a choice. Continuing to browse does not constitute consent.
Your choices are kept for six months, after which you will be asked for your consent again. You can modify or withdraw them at any time via the preference management link accessible from the website footer.
Consent is collected and recorded using the Cookiebot solution, published by Usercentrics A/S (Denmark).
3. Server-side tagging
The website uses a server-side tagging system (server-side tagging) hosted in France by Addingwell, accessible via the subdomain sst.terrassexpert.com. This system receives the browsing data collected on the website before passing it on to the authorised measurement and advertising tools.
This setup changes neither the purposes pursued nor the applicable consent regime: trackers placed through this channel remain subject to the choice you expressed in the banner. It does, however, make it possible to filter the data sent to third-party providers and to reduce the volume of information leaving the European Union.
4. Strictly necessary trackers
These trackers are essential for the operation of the website and for providing the services you expressly request. They are exempt from consent pursuant to Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act and cannot be disabled.
| Tracker | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| PHPSESSID | Server session identifier used to maintain browsing | Session |
| PrestaShop-* | Storage of the cart, language, currency and customer account login status | Up to 20 days |
| CookieConsent | Storage of your tracker choices and proof of consent | 6 months |
| Security and anti-fraud trackers of the payment service provider | Securing of the transaction and fraud prevention during payment | Session to 13 months depending on the provider |
5. Audience measurement trackers
These trackers make it possible to analyse traffic on the website, understand browsing journeys and improve usability and the product offering. As the solution used is not configured under the strict conditions of the exemption provided for by the CNIL, it is subject to your consent.
| Tracker | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishing visitors for audience measurement (Google Analytics 4) | 13 months | |
| _ga_<ID> | Storage of the session state for the relevant analytics property | 13 months |
The retention period for data derived from these trackers is limited to 25 months. IP addresses are processed in anonymised form.
6. Advertising trackers
These trackers make it possible to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, attribute conversions and, where applicable, show you personalised advertisements on third-party websites. They are subject to your consent and are only placed after you have accepted the corresponding category.
| Tracker | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au | Attribution of advertising conversions (Google Ads) | 90 days | |
| _fbp | Meta | Measurement and personalisation of campaigns on Facebook and Instagram | 90 days |
If you reject this category, a restricted consent mode is applied: no identifying data is sent to advertising networks, and only aggregated, anonymous measurements may be reported.
7. Embedded third-party content
Some pages may contain elements from third-party services (demonstration videos, maps, share buttons). These services may place their own trackers, governed by their respective privacy policies. They are only loaded after you have accepted the corresponding category.
8. Managing your choices
From the website: use the preference management link in the footer to modify or withdraw your consent at any time.
From your browser: you can configure your browser to accept, block or delete cookies. The procedure varies depending on the browser and is described in its help menu. Please note: blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, prevents the cart and customer account from working and makes ordering impossible.
Opting out of targeted advertising: industry platforms such as Your Online Choices, run by the EDAA at European level, allow you to refuse globally the placement of advertising trackers by participating ad networks.
9. Personal data
The processing of data collected through trackers is described more fully in the Privacy Policy, which specifies in particular the recipients, transfers outside the European Union and how to exercise your rights.
10. Changes
This policy is updated in line with changes to the tools used on the website and the applicable regulations. The list of trackers above is given for information purposes and may vary depending on the pages visited and the services activated.
