Jouplast Essentiel self-leveling pedestal

The Jouplast Essentiel self-leveling pedestal in detail

Its self-leveling head automatically compensates for the incline of the substrate, up to a 5% slope, for a perfectly horizontal slab without checking slab by slab. Laid without glue or grout, a terrace on pedestals stays removable and drains perfectly: water runs off through the joints, air circulates under the slabs and utility ducts pass beneath the surface.

Consider the slab support plate to spread the load under large formats, and the slope corrector if your substrate slopes. See the whole Jouplast pedestal range.

Frequently asked questions

Which self-leveling terrace pedestal should you choose?

The Jouplast self-leveling pedestal is designed for sloping substrates: its movable head brings the slab back to horizontal. It comes in Essentiel and Cleman versions, depending on the level of finish and adjustment you want.

What is the Jouplast self-leveling terrace pedestal?

It is a pedestal whose head tilts automatically to compensate for the slope of the substrate and keep the slab level. It avoids manual shimming and makes leveling on uneven ground more reliable.

Which Jouplast self-leveling pedestal is suited to a tiled terrace?

The Jouplast self-leveling pedestal is suited to 20 mm porcelain stoneware: its wide head spreads the load and keeps the tiles level. It is Jouplast's choice for a tiled terrace on a sloping substrate.

What size is the Jouplast self-leveling pedestal?

Jouplast self-leveling pedestals allow installation from 28 to 470 mm*. * Using 4 extensions of 60 mm on the 130/230 self-leveling pedestal.

How long does a Jouplast self-leveling terrace pedestal last?

Made of UV-treated, frost-resistant polypropylene, it lasts several decades outdoors, with no particular maintenance.

What is the difference between the Essentiel pedestal and the Essentiel self-leveling pedestal?

The adjustable one is set to height by screwing on a level substrate; the self-leveling one adds a pivoting head that compensates for the slope of the substrate. Choose the self-leveling version as soon as the ground has an incline.

Is this pedestal compatible with 20 mm porcelain stoneware slabs?

Yes. This pedestal is sized to take 20 mm ceramic slabs, the standard format for terraces on pedestals, with tabs that ensure an even joint.

How many pedestals should you order?

The number depends on the size of your slabs and the area to cover: one pedestal goes at each corner and is shared by four slabs. Our quantity calculator gives you the total, safety margin included.

Can you adjust the height after installation?

Yes, an adjustment key lets you work through the joint between the slabs, without taking the terrace apart. It is handy for correcting a slight flatness defect afterwards.
