Finishing profile

The finishing profile trims the side of the terrace: it hides the perimeter pedestals, protects the edges and gives a neat, finished look.

What is it for?

The finishing profile trims the edges of the terrace for a clean border, while hiding the technical space under the slabs. Laid without glue or grout, a terrace on pedestals stays removable and drains perfectly: water runs off through the joints, air circulates under the slabs and utility ducts pass beneath the surface.

Frequently asked questions

How do you finish a terrace on pedestals?

Fit a finishing profile (angle or skirting) around the perimeter to hide the gap under the slabs and the edge pedestals, and to make the edges safe. You can also trim the sides with a fascia or cladding support.

How do you hide the pedestals under the terrace?

Close off the perimeter with a finishing profile or side cladding that hides the underside: the pedestals remain invisible from outside while ventilation is preserved.

Is the profile essential?

Technically no, but it makes a big difference to the final look: it hides the gap under the slabs, protects the edges and gives the whole terrace a finished appearance.

How do you choose the height of the profile?

It must match the total height between the substrate and the top of the slab, pedestals and slab included. Measure this dimension before ordering.
