Slope corrector

The slope corrector fits on the pedestal to compensate for the incline of the substrate and bring the slab back to horizontal, where an adjustable pedestal is not enough.

What is it for?

The slope corrector slides under the pedestal head to compensate for the incline of the substrate and bring the slab back to horizontal. Laid without glue or grout, a terrace on pedestals stays removable and drains perfectly: water runs off through the joints, air circulates under the slabs and utility ducts pass beneath the surface.

Frequently asked questions

Can you build a terrace on sloping ground?

Yes: on a sloping substrate, use a self-leveling pedestal or a slope corrector that takes up the incline. The corrector compensates for a given slope percentage (often 2.5% per piece, stackable) to lay the slab perfectly level.

How do you deal with the slope of the ground when building a terrace?

Combine the height adjustment of the pedestals (to make up differences in level) with a slope corrector or a self-leveling pedestal (for the incline of the slab). On a steep slope, stack correctors; on a standard drainage fall, a self-leveling pedestal is enough.

When should you use a slope corrector?

As soon as your substrate has a drainage fall, typically 1 to 2% on a screed or balcony. Without it, the slab follows the slope of the substrate instead of staying horizontal.

Do you need a corrector under every pedestal?

Yes, if the whole substrate slopes: every support must be corrected for the finished surface to be level. This is the principle the self-leveling pedestal automates.
