PVC edging

Frequently asked questions

How do you install plastic edging?

1. Dig: cut a trench with a spade along the line, deep enough to bury two thirds of the height (about 9 to 10 cm for 14 cm edging).
2. Position: place the edging in the trench, rounded or flat edge up depending on the look you want (ECCOborder Flex).
3. Anchor: drive in the stakes with a mallet: one H-profile every 50 cm for Rouleauflex, one Multi Profile anchor every 80 to 100 cm for ECCOborder Flex, with the top of the stake about 3 cm below the top of the edging.
4. Fix: for ECCOborder Flex, screw the edging to the stakes with 45 mm countersunk self-drilling screws.
5. Backfill: fill in and firm the soil, bark or gravel on each side.

How do you make cheap garden edging?

Edging on a roll is unbeatable: ECCOborder Flex costs less than €5 incl. VAT per linear metre (25 m roll), with no joins or waste. You can install it on your own, without special tools, and it lasts for years with no paint or treatment. Measure your layout with a garden hose and allow a 5 % margin.

How do you install flexible garden edging?

The trick: unroll the roll a few hours in advance, ideally in the sun. The warm plastic relaxes, loses its coil memory and follows curves more easily. Then place the edging in its trench starting from one end, anchor it as you go with stakes closer together in curves, and backfill.

How do you install roll-out edging?

1. Prepare the roll: unroll it flat so it relaxes.
2. Mark out and dig: draw the line with a garden hose, then cut the trench.
3. Unroll: unroll the edging into the trench without cutting: one roll covers 18 m (Rouleauflex) or 25 m (ECCOborder Flex) in a single continuous line.
4. Anchor: fix it with its stakes (H-profiles or Multi Profile anchors).
5. Join: to connect two rolls, overlap them or join them on a stake, then backfill.
