Grass pavers

Frequently asked questions

Grass paver price

At Terrass'Expert, grass pavers start from:

• ECCOdal: from €17.50 incl. VAT per 0.64 m² paver, i.e. about €27 to €30 incl. VAT/m² depending on height (4 or 5 cm) and colour;
• Multidal: €20.90 incl. VAT per 0.89 m² black panel, i.e. about €23.50 incl. VAT/m².

For a complete budget, add special grass paver substrate, seed and, for a vehicle area, the sub-base (25 cm minimum). The price per m² falls with the large format: fewer pavers to buy and lay.

How do you lay grass pavers?

1. Excavation: dig out and always remove the topsoil.
2. Sub-base (vehicle areas): build a sub-base of at least 25 cm with a structural substrate, which acts both as structure and as a nutrient reserve for the grass. Compact it, for example with a heavy roller.
3. Bedding layer: spread a bedding substrate: 5 cm with vehicles, 15 cm without vehicles (when there is no sub-base).
4. Laying the pavers: lay the pavers and connect them to each other. Cut with a grinder if necessary.
5. Filling: fill with grass paver substrate up to 0.5 to 1 cm below the edge of the cells, brushing to spread it evenly. Never fill with topsoil alone: it compacts and prevents germination.
6. Sowing: sow the grass in the cells.
7. Waiting time: wait 6 to 8 weeks before using the car park, 16 weeks for intensive use. You can start mowing during this period.

Green parking price

For a standard 2.5 × 5 m parking space (12.5 m²), the paver budget is approximately:

• ECCOdal: 20 pavers, i.e. €350 to €380 incl. VAT depending on the model;
• Multidal: 15 black panels, i.e. about €315 incl. VAT.

Add to this the sub-base and filling materials, seed, perimeter edging and possibly markers to mark out the spaces. Labour costs, if you use a landscaper, depend mainly on the amount of excavation.
