The Jouplast Cleman 55/80 mm self-leveling pedestal is a premium foundation support, adjustable from 55 to 80 mm, designed to lay a tiled terrace, porcelain stoneware, concrete slabs or wooden duckboards on uneven or sloping ground. Thanks to its pivoting head, it automatically compensates for or creates a slope of up to 5% over 1 meter, with no extra equipment.
A premium pedestal that adapts to the ground
The Cleman self-leveling pedestal combines the range's premium finish with self-leveling: acoustic rubber pad included, 2 side cladding supports per base plate and a square base for corner installation or against a wall. All the components lock together for optimal stability, and the pivoting head makes up for unevenness in the ground. It lets air circulate and cables and pipes pass under the structure.
Advantages
- Pivoting head: compensates for or creates a slope of up to 5%
- Manual adjustment with the gray nut, can be set after installation with the Cleman key
- Optimized side cladding: 2 supports built into the base plate
- Easier corner installation thanks to the square base plate
- Acoustic rubber pad included
- 4 break-off spacer tabs of 4 mm for installation with or without joints
- Crush resistance greater than 1 ton, compliant with DTU 43.1
Installation tips
This pedestal is intended for outdoor pedestrian use, on uneven or poorly leveled ground or an existing concrete slab. On soil or grass, prepare the ground: excavation 15 cm, geotextile membrane, a base layer of 0/31.5 crushed gravel, compaction. The ground does not need to be perfectly flat: the pivoting heads make up the differences. Allow a fall of 1 cm per linear meter for water drainage, and lay self-supporting slabs of class T7 or T11 (standard NF EN 1339 or F+). Allow 4 pedestals per slab up to 60 × 60 cm, plus 1 to 2 central pedestals for larger sizes.
Bituminous membrane compatibility
This polypropylene pedestal with a wide base is compatible with bituminous and PVC membranes. Add a protective layer (geotextile membrane or cushioning slab) under each pedestal to avoid any risk of abrasion. To be avoided on membranes: pedestals with a metal base, without a wide base or with mechanical fixing, which could puncture the membrane and void the waterproofing.
Warnings and good practice
- Slabs only: not designed for joists or secondary wooden structures.
- Slab thickness: preferably at least 2 cm for stability and longevity.
- Jointless installation between the slabs to preserve the waterproofing of the whole assembly.
